Inspired Words

Words of encouragement and guidance inspired by the King of Heavens, as a light unto our path and a lamp unto our feet...

To Love and Obey -
Many people believe that the key to life is to live by ones own rules. Perhaps, if you have good ethics, and are MOSTLY good, that you might somehow stumble upon "success". Others believe it is by our works and labor that we make our life mean something. As a Christian, however, we know that true fulfillment comes from living a life by Faith and faithful to the one true God. Such is the secret to life. For God alone is the law giver, and by His Word ought we to live. He, thus, commands us to honor our parents, elders and leaders, but it is ultimately He whom we should put first above all else.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me:" John 10:27 KJV

We follow Him not out of fear, but out of love for Him. It is an independent, personal choice we make. Motivated by love, driven by a passion, and strengthened by a hunger so deep we seek Him. We ought to seek Him day and night. Indeed, we have our short comings, for we are but human, but as Children of the Most High we always find our way back to Him.
Consider Jesus. He did not come into this world, suffer and die on the cross, because He feared mankind. Nay. He laid down His life Himself. He willingly took our place. Henceforth, would not we seek with all our hearts to follow this good and loving Shepherd? For it is He that first loved us. Let us therefore live our lives for Him in absolute obedience, motivated by love. Let us love as He loved. Let us serve as He served.

Abiding -
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide on the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

John 15:4-5 KJV

I don't think you can ever draw too close to God and this verse confirms it. For the more you abide in Christ the more you will grow in Him and bear goodly fruits. Yet what does that mean exactly? To bear fruit? For certainly we are not branches or a grapevine literally.
In Galatians 5 it speaks of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Perhaps this is just what John meant when he spoke of us bearing fruit. Do we portray these characteristics? Is our relationship with Christ evident in our life?
Those who abide in Him will portray these fruits of the Spirits. It may not be overnight but everyday we should be becoming more like Him and making these characteristics of God apart of our lives.
So make it a goal today. Dare to take on the challenge of abiding more in God. Dare to deepen your relationship with Him. Dare to walk in your Father's footsteps... and see what happens!

Heaven's Harvest -
"The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."
Luke 10:2 KJV

Being a Christian is not an easy task. Many times the grass does seem greener on the other side. That's when we look to Jesus. We didn't choose this path of life for benefits here on earth. We didn't make that commitment to Christ to make our lives easier and more pleasurable here in this world. We did it for a higher reason. We did it for the future of our souls and for the joy and peace that we can expect there in our home in Heave.
So then what is our purpose here on earth? Why can't we skip this life on earth and just jump to Heaven? When you think of that, then remember this: it took somebody to step out and share God's love with you. It took a willing heart and yielding spirit.

God is calling us, this generation, us youth, to rise up and lift our voices. He is calling us to be laborers in His fields and gather the Harvest.

Will you be a laborer for Jesus?

Let Us Not Lose Hope -
"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified."
Isaiah 61:3 KJV

Even when we are in the deepest valleys, when darkness surrounds us and we see no hope in sight, let us seek the beauty of the Lord and the goodness that He can bring from it; let us dance for joy because we are children of the Most High and He will bring us through; let us lift our voices in praise to Him and walk uprightly rooted deeply in His love and righteousness. No, we are not promised a perfect life. Pain and suffering is part of the package dealt to us, but with the Lord we can walk through the fire with smiles on our faces and a joyful spirit. Why? Because He has already won the battle, He has already sealed our eternity to be with Him forever, therefore let us run the race knowing our future lies safely with Him. Believe in Him and you will be saved!

Our Destiny -
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV

In the same way God knows us and has fashioned a purpose for our lives, even before He formed us in our mother's womb. He does have a destiny for us. He has a destiny for you, beyond your wildest dreams. The question is: Are you willing to step out in Faith and take His hand and let Him lead you?

Hold Fast -
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)"
Hebrews 10:23 KJV

Let us hold fast, professing His Holy name to all the earth. Life can be tough sometimes, especially for a Christian. We are persecuted and despised many times, but what a small price to pay when we remember Christ's love for us and the world. For we do live unto Christ because He died for us. This life is not our own but Christ's whom saved us from eternal death. And the Lord promises to be there, through everything. Therefore let us not lose hope, for He who is for us is much greater than he who is against us.
