Music... there's sooo much to it!

Maybe thats why I love it so much. I mean, there's so much depth and so much room for creativity, improvement and learning. You could never dry the pool of possibilities there. And just think, in Heaven, there will be new tunes and new melodies to praise our Maker. Music is indeed a gift from God.

So the next time you're feeling discouraged or like there's no more new songs to make. Think again. God has given us a gift of music that can never 'just end'. I mean, as long as we have creativity running through our veins there is indeed an endless of possibilities.

Music has been with us for thousands of years. Composers of song have been existing for like ever. So no matter what anybody tells you, there's always gonna be a new melody to be sung beyond that next horizon.

Autumn is here!

Autumn is coming. Clouds skirt the sky from east to west, although surprisingly it's hardly rained today. My sister's birthday is coming up so a family friend and I are getting ready for that. It'll be a great day! Hopefully everything turns out good. I'm supposed to be making the dinner and it's Mexican. :P I can almost already taste the hot spicy flavors in my mouth and hitting the pit of my stomach. lol. I can't wait.

Hunting season starts tomorrow. Haven't been hunting in ages! Haven't had much practice with a gun either but figure I'll give it a try this season and see if I can't get me some dinner. lol. Can near taste that venison too and the sweet juicy flavors as it sizzles on the grill to a medium rare perfection.

Snow has hit the mountains too. Up there it seems it's forgotten about Fall altogether and just jumped to the frigid days of Winter. It sure is beautiful to look at. Maybe this Winter my family will take a trip snow camping again; just like the good ole days when my sis' and I were just kids roasting marshmallows near the campfire.
It's amazing how many folks still don't go camping in the Winter. I mean, sure it gets cold but hey, if your prepared you can be just as warm as ever (plus you can really enjoy and appreciate the fire). :)

Music and writing have literally been the backbone of my days. My life is that right now as I try and finish my first historical fiction book and as well as practice and fine-tune my piano and learn violin. I know you might say it's a little late for me to learn violin, I mean most folks learn it as kids, but hey... I got a great teacher! Where I slack she makes up for it. lol.
But honestly. I don't think I'd want to live my life any other way. Thank you Lord for such a great life and loved ones to surround me! :D

Run the race!

"WHEREFORE seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV)

Imagine your going through the deepest valley in life...

Imaine your going through the deepest valley in life and your hurting and are carrying the most heaviest burden possible. You know you can't bear it much longer. You know you are going to collapse soon and desperately you heave in one more weak breath.

To one side, you suddenly notice Someone standing beside you and offering His hand. He promises to take your burdens and replace it with peace. He promises to lead you through that valley and comfort you. Will you let Him? His name is Jesus.

"Carry your candle and go light your world."

"Carry your candle, run to the darkness. Seek out the hopeless confused and torn. Hold out your candle for all to see it. Take you candle, and go light your world!!" (CARRY YOUR CANDLE by CHRIS RICE)

Sure alot of folks have already heard this a zillion times, but to stop and really think about it... it's still got a message we all can learn from. If we REALLY REALLY REALLY knew the Lord Jesus and what He did for us, if we REALLY REALLY REALLY could understand His love for us and all mankind, then we'd have absolutely no hesitation to Go Light Our World. Everyday I gotta remind myself that... and everytime i take the time to do so... i always feel so renewed and encouraged. I mean, who CARES if we might look silly or be "counter cultural". For me, I'd rather be following Jesus and hearkening to His beck and call, shining His love for all to see, than to hide my candle under a bushel and never share what the Lord did for me... what the Lord has done for US.. for all the WORLD. :)

"Carry your candle and go light your world." It's a message we've all heard before. But even still we can learned form it.

Every saint has got a past and every sinner has got a future

Heard this from somewheres. Thought it kinda cool. If u think about it, we're all of course sinners, but in Christ we got a future. And even saints - aka a believer in Jesus and what He did and who He is - even they have a past; but through Christ's blood it can all be washed away. We can then look ahead to the higher calling, running the race that is set before us. :)

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Wait on the Lord and lean not on thine own understanding...

Wait on the Lord in everything you do. Seek Him and His will. Sometimes, it seems like our patience can run so short, We feel like we are at the end of our rope; like we've waited long enough. But think of how long God has waited for us. Even still He waits at times, because He loves us and has hope.

When we feel like we've waited long enough and our hope is dimming, wait a little longer and see what the Lord can do. Because it is during such times as these when the Lord will reveal such amazing things to us. His timing is perfect, so wait on Him.

He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows our heart's greatest desires. He knows what is best for us. Giving it all to Him is the best thing we could ever do to help ourselves. His will is perfect. Beyond that which we could ever understand. His timing, yes, is indeed perfect. Perfect. So when you grow tired of waiting, hold on and wait a little longer. The Lord knows how frail we can be. He will not keep us waiting longer than what we are able. So wait on Him and watch Him do His perfect will. Wait on Him and watch Him do amazing things. Wait on Him... because His timing is perfect.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31 KJV

Is collage a bad influence?

For many, collage is a blessing and a launch pad for fulfilling ones dreams. But what about for Christians? Many believers in Jesus have found themselves falling away and eventually turning from the Lord altogether? Is collage to blame? Is it ever a good thing for a Christian to go to collage? While there can be numerous benefits from this kind of schooling (i.e. learning a trade and being offered great job opportunities) still is there a risk being taken.

For instance... evolution. Anyone can tell you that such theories and field of study is entirely against God's Word. Yet in collage, it seems that many said Christian seem to tolerate it and many times begin to believe such ideas. Such teachings are dangerous waters for the Christian and unless one is strong in their faith and their relationship with Jesus, it is highly probable that a Christian can become "slack" and even begin to doubt the existence of their Maker. Even still, is all the blame to be put on the teachers and curriculum?

Peer pressure has a major part in negatively effecting a student as well, young or old. From elementary schools on to life careers, always will there be this struggle between what you know is right and what everyone else is doing. For the Christian, peer pressure can be magnified a thousands times more stronger, and unfortunately the students of highschool and collage struggle with it the most. Being continually in an enviroment where the Bible and Jesus is put down and scowled upon one's faith can be greatly effected; either causing the individual to draw further from the Lord and weaker in their faith... or stronger and closer to God. One of these is bound to happen and regrettably, the first will most often occur.

To say in a few words, collage is not easy. It is a child who often enters those doors in the fall and four years later walks out an adult with a degree and prepared for a life-long career. It is like the last shaping of one's character before one steps out into the world alone. Collage, though for many only running a course of four years, can effect any individual greatly. It is a time in one's life where one can expect change. It is a time in one's life as well where one can expect to be tempted and pressured into something where they would otherwise not do. For the Christian, it can indeed be very dangerous waters. It can be a battlefield and that is why it cannot be taking lightly. Of course, it can be a springboard into assisting one to stepping out on their own, and for the the Christian it can be a great ministry field. Yet in order for this to happen, one must come to collage prepared, not to get prepared. Collage itself isn't bad, it just demands the best out of every individual... including for the Christian.
