Love's Mystery...

Do you ever wonder if Love is harder to come by than most believe? Suppose Love is a mystery that very few really understood or even have. Does true Love really fade? Is there such thing as falling out of Love?
These words are yet unspoken on my lips. For other than my family I have not felt that fire but I do know that when I do I will mean it.
I often wonder how many hearts could be saved from breaking, how many tears could be spared, if but the words "I love you" were not so freely uttered.
I know there is such a thing as true Love - for Love is of God - but perhaps we only have it for one person. Our "other half" that the Lord created for us. Perhaps all other Love is only an infatuation. How do we then discern what we truly feel? Perhaps Love finds us rather than we finding it. Perhaps Love falls down on us rather than we falling into it.
All I know is that when I find that somebody to love I'll be grateful that I waited.

Greater than Onyx, Sapphire and Rubies

What if you were told you could have a bag of any precious stones of your choice? Imagine! The value and beauty! Would you sell them and make millions or keep them for heirlooms to pass onto your children? Would you bury them in a wooden chest? Or fashion them into jewelry?
No doubt, such a gift would be marvelous. But what if you were told that there was a greater treasure? A treasure so great that not even a thousand flawless rubies could buy? What if you were told that even God had sought all the earth to find it?
In all honesty, there is such a treasure. Job 28 speaks of it and its great value…

“Surely there is a vein for silver, and a place for gold where they refine it.
“Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molded out of the stone.”
Verses 1-2

As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.
“The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.”
Verses 5-6

So what could be more precious then fine gold and sapphires? The greater treasure is wisdom.

“But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
“Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.
“The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.
“It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
“It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
“The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.
“No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.
“The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.
“Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
“Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
“Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
“God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
“For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
“To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
“When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightening of the thunder:
“Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
Verses 12-28

Indeed, wisdom and understanding are greater than precious jewels. But such things seem so common these days. How can they be valuable when so many people claim to already have them?
Yes the wisdom and understanding of man is a common thing and it is not more precious then fine gold or even coral. But Job is not speaking of the wisdom of man, but of God.This wisdom, and this heavenly Godly understanding, is rare and not obtained by many. For the mind of God is greater and His thoughts higher than ours. So how can we begin to even comprehend these Godly gifts? How can we claim them? What else does the Bible say?
All the answers are in Scripture, their references many, and as I begin to study God’s Word more I will post it here. There is so much to cultivate from the Bible and I think we often believe that we already understand what it has to say. But the Word is alive and no matter how much we read it, we will never exhaust its knowledge and truths. Thus here I start by searching out what it means to have Godly wisdom and understanding.

By Faith…

Read Hebrews 11

By faith the people of God were able to do miraculous things with courage and the strength of the Lord. From Moses in confronting Pharaoh to “let his people go”, to Daniel in the lions den not afraid to holdfast to his faith despite the rising odds against him.
The entire Bible is built upon men and women of simplicity who lived their lives in faith. Not to say they didn’t stumble but that they rose again to continue in the Lord’s work.

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
Hebrews 11:3

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

So then, having with us today the same God as the One spoken of in the scriptures, shall we not have the boldness to do mighty things as well? For by faith we can be saved through grace, gaining life eternal with Him in heaven. If faith is the key to salvation, certainly what more can we do by faith through the power and will of God? Shall we not dare to believe? Dare to take a leap of faith?

Do you dare to challenge your fear?

What does it really mean to trust God? To put all your faith in Him? If we really had faith in Him, would we continue to worry like we often do? Would we still try to take control of our own lives? So many times I grow impatient. I don't even notice it but I begin to rush God and question His timing. His timing IS perfect, but honestly I believe we all tend to get anxious at times. We all tend to become doubtful.
What if we were to lay aside all of our worry for just one day. One day. What might happen? Does our success in life rely on our worry? Is fear the one to get credit for all our blessings? Or suppose we would realize that such things actually hold us back. Suppose if we lived a life trusting instead of fretting, suppose amazing things could happen. The disciples healed the lame and raised the dead, but it wasn't with fear or doubt that they did this. In fact, they had to let go of that and rely completely 100% on God. A life relying on God and trusting in Him, is a life blessed and lived to the fullest. Our fear holds us back, but with courage and faith we can leap into miracles.
The God we are asked to believe in is not a God of mistakes or broken promises. We have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. In honest truth, if you could lay aside all worry and fear for one day and just know that there's Someone out there who has everything under control, wouldn't that just be a life well lived? I mean, we could literally live our lives courageously and full of joy and peace. Suppose you did lay them down for just one day. What could happen?
It isn't an easy thing to do. Worry is something humanity is all too familiar with, but it is something we were never meant to carry. It was never meant to be apart of our lives. So don't let it. Tomorrow... I dare you to let go of all your worries. Let them slip off your back and feel the burdens that slip off with them. Just trust entirely on God and let His peace encompass you. Try it. One day. I dare you. I challenge you to challenge your fear. Take a leap of faith! And watch the walls crumble down and the mountains move.

Trust...

So sorry so short...

This week my Papa came home from his work in North Dakota. I was overjoyed to see him I almost didn't know what to do with myself. He leaves tomorrow and I won't see him for some time. Isn't it weird how when you know you only have a few short hours left, thats when you don't know how to spend it? I reckon I should finish this later. I have so much to say, including that Skull Church event I attended and so much more. This weeks has been so full of everything, even shopping. =) Well I'll post more tomorrow.
